Cherry Hill, NJ (February 18, 2020) –?The Source-to-Pay team at Corcentric will advocate for new approaches to Procurement at a pair of industry events this March. On March 18th, Anthony Mignona, Corcentric’s VP of Strategic Solution Engineering, will attend the Supply Management Forum hosted by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM)’s New Jersey chapter. From March 23rd-25th, he will travel to Orlando for ProcureCon Indirect East.

This year’s ISM-NJ Supply Management Forum focuses on digital transformation. Topics of discussion will include the benefits (and drawbacks) of artificial intelligence, the promise of machine learning, and Procurement’s ongoing struggle to engage its peers in Marketing. Mignona will make the case for a tech-enabled, strategic approach to managing tail spend.

“However organizations define tail spend,” Mignona remarks, “chances are they aren’t paying close enough attention to it.” Technology doesn’t always help. He continues, “In many instances, organizations expect a new tool to do all the work for them. This can leave struggling companies falling even further behind the competition.” Throughout his presentation, Mignona will provide the insights necessary to make tail spend a value generator while maximizing the ROI of Procurement’s technology purchases.

ProcureCon Indirect East’s two-day agenda features presentations on a range of subjects covering everything from talent development to change management. The roster of industry-leading speakers represent organizations like HP, Sprint, and DuPont.

At ProcureCon, Mignona will address the flaws in one of Supply Management’s favorite pieces of conventional wisdom: the Pareto principle. Holding that 80% of spend comes from 20% of suppliers, the principle has long dictated how companies segment and address their spend. “It’s also the cause of countless missed opportunities,” Mignona adds. Rejecting this simplistic principle, Mignona will encourage attendees to adopt a more strategic outlook and tailor spend management practices to their actual capabilities and objectives.
